In a previous Insider column, I wrote about how NFRC’s volunteer members are “The Blood in Our Veins.” While I absolutely believe that to be true, I also see potential for improvement. Like so many other service organizations, NFRC seems to follow the proverbial “80/20” rule, where 80% of the work is done by 20% of the membership. Civilized society depends upon a set of rules for acceptable behavior. Recent scandals involving public officials and the current period of economic uncertainty remind us that now more than ever that we need to keep these ideals foremost in our thoughts. More |
